This is going to be a super quick blog post but I wanted to just talk about something that I have experienced for the past few years since I had Jaxson. It’s definitely something postpartum but also could be hormonal or attributed to getting older. But basically I have been experiencing dandruff which is something I never used to have and also is unfortunate because my hair is dark and you can easily see when my scalp is flaky. I have tried a few different home treatments. The one I have used in the past is coconut oil and tea tree oil which I actually really love and do still sometimes use this treatment 4 times a year but I find it makes my hair very oily and no matter how much water I use I can never get out all the coconut oil. Maybe it’s just my hair type.

I found a new at home hair treatment and it actually was recommended by Jonathan from Queer Eye. It doesn’t make my hair oily and I have found more growth also from using this treatment and it is super simple to make. 2-3 ingredients at most. Apple cider vinegar has a ton of amazing health benefits. It improves digestion, helps with weight loss, can be used as a skin toner and is really good for your hair! If you mix a teaspoon of this with hot lemon water every morning it is incredibly good for your gut and you will definitely see results mixed with healthy eating and working out. It is important to get the apple cider vinegar with the “mother”. I buy Bragg’s organic, raw, unfiltered and with the mother. You can buy it from most grocery stores.

My at home scalp treatment recipe:

Fill 3/4 a 20oz glass bottle of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

Add 1/4 rose water. I use my own that I made from leftover roses.

Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water.

Add a few drops essential oils such as peppermint or tea tree oil for extra benefits and nice scent.

And there you have it! Super simple and takes under 5 minutes to make if you already have all the ingredients good to go. I have noticed a definite difference since I started using it. I spray the treatment on my hair twice a week which his about the same amount of times I wash my hair. My hair has grown significantly and my scalp is a lot healthier. I only wish I would have started sooner which is why I am sharing this little tip with all of y'all . Enjoy!
